La Femme Fitness was born from a deep understanding of women’s lives. For over two decades, founder Sary Barak served the Brooklyn community through beauty and wellness at La Femme Spa. During those years, a clear pattern emerged: women are experts at caring for everyone else—their families, their careers, and their communities—often at the expense of their own health.
Sary founded this studio to provide the one thing most busy women are missing: a professional space where they can finally put themselves first. Discovering the power of strength training later in life, Sary experienced firsthand how intentional movement transforms not just the body, but a woman's resilience and self-belief. La Femme Fitness is the evolution of that discovery—a sanctuary built specifically for the modern woman.
La Femme Fitness was founded by Sary Barak, a name synonymous with professional care and women’s wellness in Brooklyn for over twenty years. Having spent two decades serving the community through La Femme Spa, Sary’s journey into fitness began when she discovered the transformative power of strength training later in life.
Through her own experience, Sary realized that strength is the ultimate foundation for confidence, resilience, and long-term health. However, she also noticed a gap in the industry: most fitness spaces didn’t account for the realities of a woman’s busy life. She saw that between family, career, and community, women were consistently placing their own well-being last.
Sary founded La Femme Fitness at 327 Kingston Ave to change that narrative. Her mission was to create a professional, modest sanctuary where women are not just another number, but are seen, known, and supported.

This philosophy is at the heart of everything Sary does. She believes that a true wellness partner stays present even when motivation fades. Under Sary’s leadership, La Femme Fitness has become more than a gym—it is a community where Brooklyn women come to build the strength they need to support the lives they love.

With over 20 years of experience in fitness and wellness, Yana brings expertise, discipline, and passion to every class. A master of sculpting and progressive weight overload, she knows how to challenge your body safely while pushing you beyond what you thought was possible. Yana’s coaching style is motivating and direct — she’ll meet you where you are and push you to be your absolute best.

Carlina is soft-spoken, soulful, and deeply intentional in her teaching. A true master of mobility and alignment, she excels at guiding students progressively toward proper form and body awareness. Her classes focus on strength through control, breath, and intelligent movement, making them accessible yet transformative.

Sarah’s classes are rooted in grace, control, and mindful movement. Through flowing sequences and strong core-focused work, she challenges you to move intentionally while truly listening to your body. Her calm presence and precise cueing create a space where strength and awareness develop together.

Spunky, energetic, and full of life, Bri brings an infectious energy that turns every class into an experience. She knows how to deliver a serious workout while helping you reconnect with your confidence and femininity. Expect high energy, great music, and a workout that leaves you feeling powerful and uplifted.

Taylor brings star power and precision to the studio as a Broadway performer with an incredible command of movement. Multi-disciplinary and dynamic, she blends high-energy Zumba with technically sound weight training, ensuring workouts are both fun and structurally solid. Her classes are expressive, empowering, and always high-impact.
